New video: A virtual tour of the RadiMax facility

Kristian Thorup-Kristensen of Copenhagen University (KU) provides a virtual tour of the RadiMax facility, designed to investigate deeper rooting systems.

The facility was built and developed in 2015 and 2016 to carry out phenotypic studies on a large number of plant genotypes. As part of the Solace project, the Root Painter software could be trained on different route types to extract as much information as possible from the data. The aim was to analyse how much nitrogen and water different genotypes can take up from deep side layers and whether genotypes with the potential to form deep roots also have the potential for high nitrogen and water uptake.
